Air Canada’s enRoute Magazine announced their annual list of the top 10 new restaurants across the country.
Two Vancouver establishments made the list, including Kissa Tanto, which came in first place, and Savio Volpe which nabbed the tenth spot.
“The top restaurants in our 2016 ranking are influenced by community, and they create an experience that diners can really become a part of,” said Jean-François Légaré, editor-in-chief, Air Canada enRoute.
Kissa Tanto, the Japanese-Italian restaurant wowed guests with their atmosphere and cuisine. They serve an amazing tajarin pasta tossed with butter and Marsalad roasted shiitake and porcini.
Savio Volpe specializes in Italian fare and was a strong contender with its delicious cannolis and cappuccinos.
The atmosphere of both establishments also deserve credit with designer Craig Stanghetta’s touch. He created a 1960’s Tokyo jazz bar inspired look at Kissa Tanto and a retro Italian dining room at Savio Volpe.
