Whether you’re new to Vancouver or would like to become a tourist in your own city—there are plenty of activities for you to explore this Fall.
Visit the Vancouver Art Gallery
If the weather is rainy outside, there’s no better place to take cover than at the Vancouver Art Gallery. Take a tour of the gallery and learn all about their many pieces. This Fall they are featuring Picasso: The Artist and His Muses and Walker Evans: Depth of Field exhibitions.
Go for a bike ride (or walk) in Stanley Park
Biking along the seawall in Stanley Park is one of the most Vancouver things you could possibly do. Don’t let the season change scare you away—in fact it’s probably better to go in the Fall because there will be less people along the path (hopefully).
Walk through the VanDusen Botanical Garden
One of the most beautiful gardens in all of Vancouver has an array of stunning greenery that will leave you in awe. It has something special to offer for every season, not just in the Summer!
Check out Flyover Canada
If it’s grey and cold outside, take the fun back indoors. Fly across Canada in this interactive theatre experience. You will stay (mostly) dry. The video will show stunning images of Canadian landscapes while also releasing scents and spraying water to make it feel even more realistic.
Go to the public market in Granville Island
Granville Island is a fun place to be no matter what time of the year it is. The public market is home to a wide variety of goodies—it’s the perfect excuse to indulge your sweet tooth and try some of their amazing cakes or decadent macarons.
Appreciate wildlife at the Vancouver Aquarium
You can’t visit Vancouver without also visiting the beluga whales, sea otters and other marine life living at the aquarium.
Take in the sights at Queen Elizabeth Park
Another spot that is incredibly beautiful all times throughout the year. Enjoy both the scenery and the amazing views the park has to offer.
Hit the trails of Pacific Spirit Regional Park
Just because it’s Fall, doesn’t mean you can’t get outside to enjoy the fresh air and get some exercise. Pacific Spirit has a number of scenic trails that are an easy walk as they’re flat.
Ride the gondola to Grouse Mountain
Enjoy the scenic ride up the mountain and then spend the day exploring! Check out the Theatre in the Sky, visit the habitat grizzly bears before they go into hibernation or just have a drink at the restaurant while taking advantage of the beautiful views. Looking for a thrill? Surf their new Skyride.
Shop till you drop at stores along Robson Street
Get a head start on your Christmas shopping, or spoil yourself. If you’ve got shopping on your mind—Robson Street is the place to be. There’s Nordstrom, Armani Exchange, MAC, Lush, and many more.
Soak up culture at the Museum of Anthropology
Get cultured and stay warm at UBC’s Museum of Anthropology. Here you will find some incredible exhibitions.
Do the tree walk at UBC’s Botanical Garden
While in the area, check out UBC’s beautiful botanical garden. There’s an awesome Tree Walk adventure that allows you walk along mini bridges strung along trees throughout the park.
People watch in historic Gastown
Whether you’re a local or a tourist, this is always a good time. Hit up a popular pub like Chill Winston and just hang out and people watch (especially on a Friday night).
Learn something new at Science World
This is one of the most popular tourist attractions and it’s a great activity for children (or the kid in you). If you’d like to stay indoors while also learning something new, check out the TELUS World of Science.
Enjoy the views at Lighthouse Park
Weather is still mild enough to take on an easy hike. Take a stroll through the trails and look out onto the lighthouse at this beautiful park.
