Telus has announced it will increase rates for its high-speed internet service on July 1, 2016.
The monthly rate for internet will increase by $5 a month. The change will be reflected in the internet section of July bills.
According to a statement posted on the Telus website, the price hike is a result of the high costs associated with upgrading their networks and services across Canada.
“The cost of providing TELUS Home Services continues to increase as we continue to upgrade our networks and services in both dense urban and remote rural areas across Canada, to keep our customers connected and maintain our world-class communications service.”
The news comes within days after Shaw announced it plans to increase internet, TV, and phone rates on August 1.
Fortunately for Telus customers however, phone and TV rates will not be affected.
