Metro Vancouver will be painted red and white for Canada Day (Tuesday July 1). There are events and celebrations taking part in almost every city across the 604 so there’s no excuse not to go out! Below is our guide on local happenings to enjoy with your friends and families.

Vancouver

The top two Canada Day celebrations in Vancouver this year will be at Granville Island and Canada Place which both offer us waterfront views! Canada Day at Canada Place is the biggest Canada Day celebration outside Ottawa! It will feature live performances, exhibits, and interactive displays.

Granville Island will kick off their celebrations at 7:00am on July 1st with a pancake breakfast, followed by live jazz music, and a South Asian cultural extravaganza. Here are more details.

Burnaby

Burnaby will offer 3 different Canada Day celebration events this year. This includes Burnaby Museum – which will feature a carousal ride, the new Edmonds Park – which will feature a flash mob. Richmond

Delta

Delta will feature a series of events this year spread out across the city. The most notable event will be at Chalmers Park in North Delta where the first 500 people will receive free cake.
