The fall trend report is here, and this season we are seeing plaid, taking another life span with inspiration from the 80’s and its grunge era.
Plaid was seen on the fall 2013 runways this season, and can be mixed with leather moto jackets and boots for a look that’s very cool yet chic.
Designers such as Philip Lim, Karen Walker, and Marc by Marc Jacobs have all been inspired by this trend.
As the weather grows colder and as the days get drearier, many are sure to be seen donning this trend. For instance, plaid scarves will come in handy during the colder days and plaid shirts are great layering pieces paired with light weight sweaters or shirts. Plaid will always be a fall favorite, but expect this trend to be even more popular this season. Both grunge and menswear-inspired looks were big on the F/W ’13 runways, and, as shown below, they are showcased as to how versatile they can be.
For accessible plaid items in Vancouver, try Brandy Melville, H&M, Forever 21 and Zara.
